Project co-funded by the European Commission within the 6th Framework Programme Dissemination Level PU Public X PP Restricted to other programme participants (including the Commission services) RE Restricted to a group specified by the consortium (including the Commission services) CO Confidential, only for members of the consortium (including the Commission services) Abstract This deliverable is an update of the ongoing research activities on perceptual hashing that is performed within the project ECRYPT. Deliverable D.WVL.7 was focused on forensic tracking and deliverable D.WVL.12 gave an overview of perceptual hashing in general and within ECRYPT. D.WVL.13 focused on the ongoing work on the identification of various content types and motivated the development of a benchmarking system for perceptual hashing algorithms. In this deliverable D.WVL.17, the progress in the requirements analysis and the design of a benchmarking system for perceptual hashing algorithms – called PHABS – is described. Furthermore, the robustness and security of an perceptual hashing algorithm for images is analyzed. Deep Into the Fibers! Postmortem Diffusion Tensor Imaging in Forensic Radiology.
PURPOSE In traumatic brain injury, diffusion-weighted and diffusion tensor imaging of the brain are essential techniques for determining the pathology sustained and the outcome. Postmortem cross-sectional imaging is an established adjunct to forensic autopsy in death investigation. The purpose of this prospective study was to evaluate postmortem diffusion tensor imaging in forensics for its fea...

متن کاملPalaeomicrobiology meets forensic medicine: time as a fourth-dimension for the crime scene
The unrelenting progress of laboratory techniques is rapidly unleashing the huge potential of palaeomicrobiology. That bodies are often found in poor condition is common to both palaeomicrobiology and forensic medicine, and this might stimulate them towards a joint quest to extract reproducible data for reliable specimens.
